During this process, forest berries were added to the fermentation tanks, enriching the flavor profile of the coffee with notes of fruity freshness and distinctiveness. After fermentation, the beans were depulped and transferred to African beds, where they were dried until reaching the ideal moisture level. And that is why, if you ask us about the processing, we will answer – fake fermentation.ROASTER'S OPINIONThere are weird coffees, weirder coffees, and then there is our series of fake fermentations. Anyone who has tried them and likes them knows – the yellow bags are not a world of subtlety. Here, it is bold, decisive, and very direct. COFFEE PLANT - Uganda Rubirizi Natural Filter 250 g

Manufacturer: COFFEE PLANT

Roasting date: 28.09.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee beans from Uganda, roasted by COFFEE PLANT from Poland. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. You can expect hints of ripe mango, balsamico, rum and dark chocolate.Origin: UgandaRegion: Mount ElgonProcessing: NaturalVariety: SL14, SL28Altitude: 1680-1820 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEEThis natural process coffee comes from 203 farmers in the Kabarole District, near Fort Portal in western Uganda. The coffee grows at an altitude of 1,600–2,100 meters above sea level in fertile volcanic soils and a diverse microclimate. Cherries reach the Rubirizi station through local leaders who coordinate their harvest and ensure quality right from the delivery stage. The combination of high altitude, careful selection, and the experience of local producers yields an intense, fruity-chocolate character. An interesting aspect is how this lot was selected. Beans that, due to their appearance—darker parchment, spots, or pulp residue—would previously have been automatically categorized into a lower grade, were re-evaluated based on cup quality. Those without actual defects were selected and prepared as a separate, more affordably priced lot. The coffee undergoes multi-stage sorting, supported by an optical sorter, followed by intensive natural processing with a short anaerobic fermentation stage. The result is a very sweet, complex, and intense coffee.ROASTER'S OPINIONThe profile of this Ugandan coffee is the result of a long fermentation—ripe mango and dark chocolate combine with notes of balsamico and rum, creating a thick, intense character unusual for coffees from the Mount Elgon area. It is a very fruity and complex coffee with an exceptionally deep profile. In the aroma, ripe, almost caramelized mango dominates, accompanied by a sweet balsamic note and a delicate fermented accent. In flavor, mango builds an intense, syrupy sweetness, while balsamico and rum give depth and a slightly liqueur-like character to the whole profile. The profile finishes with dark chocolate and a long aftertaste. The coffee has a full, thick body and low, mild acidity, keeping it sweet, intense, and remarkably expressive.Store in a cool and dry place.

However, the Bayter family has rapidly transformed the plantation into one of the most advanced in the industry in terms of complex processing and cultivating a whole range of select, highly sought-after botanical varieties, such as Geisha, Pink Bourbon, Laurina, or Pacamara.Currently, El Vergel is conducting continuous research on bacteria and yeast to achieve even greater precision in controlling fermentation, and consequently, modulating flavor. In addition to coffee production, the Bayters are the force behind Forest, a company involved in both the export and import of green coffees, which means we were able to purchase this coffee directly, without any intermediaries.ABOUT THE COFFEE PROCESSING ON THE FARMThe Caturra variety, hand-picked, processed as washed, and decaffeinated using the sugarcane method with ethyl acetate, which reduces the caffeine content to approximately 0.1%.ROASTER'S OPINIONHonest truth – in a blind tasting, we would have trouble realizing this is a decaf. COFFEE PLANT - LOW Brownie Filter 250 g

Manufacturer: COFFEE PLANT

Roasting date: 28.09.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Brazil, roasted in Poland by COFFEE PLANT. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. You can expect hints of chocolate, cocoa and nuts.Country: BrazilRegion: Cerrado/Sul de MinasFarm: Rancho GrandeVarietal: Mundo Nuovo, Acaia, Yellow Bourbon, Processing: Natural CO2/NaturalAltitude: 950 - 1050 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEEIn the package, you will find two coffees from Brazil, processed using the natural method: decaffeinated Mundo Novo from the Cerrado region and a caffeinated blend of Mundo Novo, Acaia, and Yellow Bourbon from the Rancho Grande farm in Sul de Minas. The dry, sunny conditions of Cerrado favor a clean, chocolate-forward profile with pronounced sweetness, while the slower drying on raised beds in the more humid microclimate of Rancho Grande creates greater complexity with notes of nuts and dried fruits. After import to Europe, some of the beans were decaffeinated using the supercritical CO₂ method, which effectively reduces caffeine with minimal impact on aroma and structure, allowing LOW Brownie to retain its full, balanced character. In the cup, chocolate and nuts dominate, with a delicate hint of dried fruits, high sweetness, medium body, low acidity, and a long, chocolate finish. We also verified the caffeine level in the final brew prepared according to the standardized V60 recipe. In 250 g of brewed coffee, we measured 54.4 mg of caffeine. Compared to the same coffee in its fully caffeinated version, this represents a real reduction of about 70% in caffeine content in the brewed coffee.ROASTER'S OPINIONThis coffee has a consistent chocolate-nut character, enriched with a subtle hint of dried fruits that gently highlight the flavor, reminiscent of classic brownies. It is distinguished by pronounced sweetness, medium fullness, very low acidity, and aromas of cocoa and chocolate. The whole is completed by a long, chocolate finish and excellent balance. This is how LOW Brownie – our reduced-caffeine coffee – presents itself.Store in a cold and dry space.

Now that it looks the part, we can finally share this delicious find. What won us over about El Indio was its depth of flavour. Think dark stone fruit with a fermented edge. Our first association? Mon Chéri chocolates! - RoasteryEl Indio comes from Planadas in Colombia’s Tolima department. Behind the coffee are local associations bringing together around 175 coffee-farming families. This is Caturra grown at 1,500–2,150 metres above sea level and naturally processed, meaning the beans are dried inside the whole coffee cherries. The green coffee is decaffeinated using the EA method, which helps preserve its character. The process uses water and ethyl acetate derived from sugar cane, a compound also found naturally in many fruits. First, the coffee goes into a steam chamber, then into a spring-water bath. Once the beans are saturated with water, they spend eight hours in contact with ethyl acetate, which dissolves the caffeine. Finally, the coffee is dried back to its original moisture level. All that’s left for us is to brew a pour-over and discover just how much a cup can offer without the caffeine.Store in a cold and dry space.

Before export, the coffee is sorted through as many as 12 stages, ensuring the highest level of bean selection. In the cup, Uganda Zebigi presents a harmonious and elegant profile. Notes of juicy apple and sweet grapes are clearly noticeable, followed by a subtle, creamy vanilla. It stands out for its subtle fruit notes and mild sweetness, while remaining clean and very pleasant in taste. This lot comes from El Palmar, a 2-hectare family farm located in La Tolda, Toribio, Cauca, cultivated at an altitude of 2117 meters above sea level – an exceptional elevation that slows down the development of the coffee cherries, allowing for natural sweetness and a complex bouquet. The farm is managed by Zorayda Yule Vitonas, who has been growing coffee for 18 years alongside her husband and daughter. The cherries are hand-picked every 21 days, selecting only those that have reached the distinctive salmon-pink color of the Pink Bourbon variety at optimal ripeness. After flotation and manual sorting, the coffee undergoes a 24-hour fermentation in tanks, then it is depulped and fermented for another 10 hours, washed three times to remove all mucilage, and dried for 16 days in a parabolic solar dryer. This lot was sourced through the Auction for Peace 2025 program – an initiative supporting coffee-growing communities in Cauca.ROASTER'S OPINIONEl Palmar is a sophisticated Colombian Pink Bourbon coffee with a clean, sweet, and incredibly elegant flavor profile. It was founded in 2011 by Ben and Kristy Carlson, who recognized both the huge potential of Burundian coffees and the challenges faced by local farmers after the privatization of the coffee sector. Their goal was to create a collaborative model that would allow farmers to produce better coffee and receive fairer compensation for it, while providing roasteries around the world with access to exceptional and fully traceable lots.Today, Long Miles works with thousands of smallholders and operates its own washing stations, including Bukeye, Heza, and Giku. Each batch of coffee can be traced not only to a specific station, but often also to the specific hill from which the cherries originate. Thanks to this, Long Miles has become one of the pioneers in building transparency and traceability of coffee origins in Burundi. The project's philosophy is based on a simple premise: good coffee starts with people. Therefore, Long Miles invests not only in infrastructure and processing quality, but also in farmer training, local community development, and long-term relationships with producers. The results are coffees that regularly make their way into the offerings of the most respected specialty roasteries in the world and have for years been building Burundi's reputation as one of Africa's most interesting origins.ROASTER'S OPINIONIf you are not drinking coffees from Burundi yet, change that. This is one of the more interesting origins we deal with during the year. A bit like Rwanda, a bit like Kenya, but most of all, it is 100% Burundi!Store in a cool, dry place.

The dry, sunny conditions of Cerrado favor stable natural processing, giving the beans a clean, chocolate-forward character, while the Kenyan beans, fermented and dried on raised beds, develop a pronounced citrus acidity. The combination of these two components creates a harmonious chocolate-citrus profile with delicate notes of stone fruit.PROCESSINGAfter being imported to Europe, the Brazilian beans were decaffeinated using the supercritical CO₂ method, which selectively removes caffeine with minimal impact on the aroma and structure of the beans. As a result, LOW Juicy Fruit retains its full flavor, medium body, high sweetness, and lightly sparkling acidity, leading to a long, chocolate-citrus finish. We also verified the caffeine level in the final brew prepared according to the V60 protocol. In 250 g of brewed coffee, we measured 64.1 mg of caffeine, representing approximately a 70% reduction compared to the fully caffeinated version.ROASTER'S OPINIONStore in a cold and dry space.

The altitude of over 1,800 m above sea level, the mineral-rich volcanic soil and the ideal microclimate give the coffee beans a full, complex flavour with exceptional sweetness and balanced acidity.AMCOS (Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Societies) group plays a very important role in supporting local farmers. AMCOS is a cooperative organization that brings together small farmers and provides them with various services that improve their living conditions and contribute to a better quality of their products.Mbeya Region – the pearl of the African highlandsMbeya is one of Tanzania’s most important coffee regions, located near Lake Nyasa and bordering Kitulo National Park. The area is known not only for its fertile soil but also for the small family farms that have been growing coffee here for generations. Agriculture is deeply rooted in the local culture – coffee cherries are hand-picked and farmers pay close attention to every detail of the harvest and processing. The Sambewe processing station works with more than 400 smallholder farmers who bring their carefully hand-picked cherries to it.For this particular batch, only Peaberry beans were selected, which give the coffee a unique flavor profile. After hand-picking, the floaters were sorted from the coffee and then the coffee was hulled and sent to fermentation tanks, where after 18-36 hours of fermentation, the beans were freed from the remaining pulp. After washing in channels, the subsequent beans were spread out in parchment on African beds, where they are dried for an average of 14-30 days depending on the weather. Coffees from Tanzania are covered by the AMCOS organization. The role of AMCOS in Mbeya regionEnsuring access to marketsAMCOS helps farmers in the region connect to wider markets and sell their coffee at fair prices. This cooperative gives smaller farmers, who would otherwise struggle to sell directly, collective access to larger buyers and exporters.Support for processing and quality productionAMCOS provides its members with access to improved processing technologies and advice on improving coffee quality. This includes training on proper cherry picking, drying and processing methods , resulting in high-quality coffee that is gaining international recognition.Securing financing and equipmentThe AMCOS cooperative often assists farmers in the Mbeya area with access to finance and necessary equipment such as peelers , drying beds and warehouses , which improves farm infrastructure and streamlines the entire production process.Social and community supportAMCOS also contributes to the development of local communities by investing in educational programs , healthcare , and infrastructure , thereby improving the living conditions of farmers and their families. It also promotes the sharing of experiences among farmers, ensuring the continued growth and stability of coffee production in the region.Ensuring sustainabilityA focus on sustainability is also part of AMCOS' work. The cooperative supports farmers in transitioning to organic and environmentally friendly practices , such as integrated pest management systems or protecting water resources in coffee growing areas. Thanks to these activities, AMCOS provides farmers not only with better conditions for growing quality coffee, but also with broader access to markets and sustainable economic opportunities for the entire region.ROASTER'S NOTEA juicy, yet tea-like coffee that is a great representative of Tanzanian coffees and demonstrates how complex they can be.
