ABOUT THE FARM
Mr. Mengeche Derso is the owner of a 15-hectare farm located in the highlands of the Gedeo Zone, in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. This region, and the Gedeo Zone in particular, is famous for producing high-quality Yirgacheffe coffee.
Mr. Mengeche is 62 years old and has been involved in agriculture his entire life. Thanks to his commitment to producing the highest quality coffee, he has gained recognition from state institutions.
Mr. Mengeche has twelve children. Together with four of them, he actively works on the coffee plantation. To enrich the soil, they use natural fertilizers such as manure and plant residues. His farm is located at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level and is one of many in this area renowned for producing top-quality coffee.
