For many Ethiopians, coffee is a symbol, a source of national pride, and a way of life – a group that certainly includes this finalist of last year's Cup of Excellence! His small farm, approximately 8 hectares in size, is located in the Bensa region, which in our opinion holds the highest quality potential. The crops here reach well above 2000 meters above sea level and usually consist of selected, single botanical varieties.A family business run by the Ureña family, where everything runs like clockwork. We have been visiting them for many years, and it is a beautiful thing. Vista al Chirripo is the highest-altitude plantation on the farm, where right next to the trees of this Caturra stands a small wooden house with windows overlooking the highest peak in the country. It is impossible to describe in words, but if you want to impress someone more than ever before, you take them right there and wait together for the sunrise over a cup of coffee. Just don't kill the mood by asking about the click count, please.ABOUT THE COFFEE PROCESSING ON THE FARMEthiopia: Processed as natural – drying the coffee seeds within the whole fruit. Freshly harvested cherries undergo an initial selection where those with defects are discarded. Then, they are spread out on so-called African beds – long tables, sometimes stretching for dozens (!) of meters, with a mesh lining that allows for even air circulation throughout the process, resulting in homogeneous drying. The whole process takes between 25 and 30 days, depending on the weather.Costa Rica: First, the cherries undergo a short pre-drying process, and then they are sealed for 2 or 3 days in airtight tanks for fermentation with limited oxygen. Then, drying on long African tables under something that looks like the plastic tunnels used by grandparents in allotment gardens, you know, the ones where tomatoes and cucumbers grow. Only about seven times longer.ROASTER'S OPINIONThis is our idea for this espresso: we created a roast profile that showcases the beautiful floral and fruity notes typical of high-quality Ethiopian coffees, while simultaneously offering a good deal of chocolatey-dessert depth to balance the acidity and give the cup equilibrium. As a result, whether you brew it in an espresso machine, a moka pot, or even as a filter coffee, you will get a full, round, and complex coffee with a long-lasting, syrupy aftertaste!Store in a cold and dry space.

Medium roasted specialty coffee Christmas Coffee Costa Rica Vista al Chirripo. This coffee is perfectly suited for all pressure brewing methods, such as an espresso machine or a moka pot.ABOUT THE PLANTATIONThe coffee comes from the Chirripó micro-region in the southern part of Costa Rica, where the Ureña Rojas family runs their farms. This is one of the most consistently developing coffee projects in the region — the family micromill Café Rivense, founded in 2005 by Régulo Ureña and Isabel Rojas, and today managed together with their sons: Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, and Luis. The Vista al Chirripó plantation is located at an altitude of up to ~2000 m a.s.l., overlooking the highest peak in Costa Rica — Cerro Chirripó. It was from this very plantation that the lots which took 5th place in the 2019 Cup of Excellence originated — it is one of the most esteemed terroirs in the entire country. The farm focuses on biodiversity, complete self-sufficiency, and minimal water consumption, and the entire production — from harvesting, through processing, to export — is carried out entirely by the family themselves, without intermediaries.ABOUT THE COFFEEThis is an exceptional lot of the Caturra variety, subjected to anaerobic fermentation and dried in the cherry. This process highlights the juicy fruitiness and deep sweetness, creating a profile full of cherry, prune, and praline creaminess. The cup is smooth, elegant, with a long, sweet finish — perfect as a unique dessert espresso. The cherries are selectively hand-picked and then undergo anaerobic fermentation, where they remain in controlled conditions without access to oxygen. This gives the coffee a deeper color, richness, and dessert character. Afterwards, the cherries are dried naturally to concentrate the sweetness and aroma. The result? An intense, juicy, velvety coffee with a beautifully developed acidity of stone fruits.Store in a dry and cool place.

BeMyBean - Ethiopia Kebero Washed Espresso 250 g

Manufacturer: BEMYBEAN

Roasting date: 11.06.2026

A specialty coffee from Ethiopia, roasted in Poland by BeMyBean. Dark roast, perfect for espresso, coffee machines, and moka pots. You can expect hints of blackberry and currants juice, lime, grapefruit and orange's flowers.Country: EthiopiaRegion: SidamoFarm: KeberoVarietal: HeirloomProcessing: WashedAltitude: 2000 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEEEthiopia Kebero is a classic in a modern espresso edition. From the very first sip, it showcases what a well-processed washed coffee is all about: clean, clear, and incredibly juicy. In the foreground, an intense blueberry and currant juice emerges, giving the whole cup depth and a light sweetness. A moment later, citruses come in – lime and grapefruit – introducing freshness and a characteristic, vibrant acidity. The entire experience is tied together by a delicate, floral accent of orange blossom, which lends lightness and elegance to the cup. This is a medium-intensity espresso that does not overwhelm but consistently builds a layered profile – from fruity juiciness to a clean, fresh finish. Perfect for those looking for clarity of flavor and a distinct origin character in their espresso.ABOUT THE PROCESSINGThe key to this profile lies in the washed processing method, also known as wet processing. The process begins right at the harvest stage. Only fully ripe, hand-picked coffee cherries make it to further processing. Next, the cherries are thoroughly sorted to discard any unripe or damaged fruit. The subsequent step is depulping, which is the mechanical removal of the skin and most of the pulp. A thin, sticky layer of mucilage containing natural sugars then remains on the bean. After that, fermentation begins in water tanks, usually lasting from a dozen to several dozen hours. During this time, natural enzymes break down the remaining pulp, separating it from the bean. This is one of the most crucial moments – it determines the cleanliness and character of the future flavor profile. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly rinsed with clean water, which completely removes the remnants of the pulp and stops the fermentation processes. Thanks to this, the coffee's flavor becomes clearer and free from heavy, fermented notes. The final stage is drying on raised tables (so-called African beds), where the beans dry for about 10–15 days. They are regularly turned to ensure even moisture evaporation and to avoid defects. The result of the entire process is a coffee of exceptional clarity – one in which you can clearly taste the origin, variety, and growing conditions. This is precisely why Ethiopia Kebero is so juicy, citrusy, and floral, yet light and elegant at the same time.Store in a cold and dry space.

BeMyBean- Nicaragua Jinotega Washed Espresso 250 g

Manufacturer: BEMYBEAN

Roasting date: 11.06.2026

A specialty coffee from Nicaragua, roasted in Poland by BeMyBean. Dark roast, perfect for espresso, coffee machines, and moka pots. You can expect hints of raisins in chocolate, caramel, mirabelle plum jam and biscuits.Country: NicaraguaRegion: JinotegaVarietal: Bourbon, Caturra, CatuaiProcessing: WashedAltitude: 1200 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEENicaragua Jinotega is a coffee that perfectly demonstrates why Central American espresso has such a loyal fanbase. It combines dessert sweetness with delicate fruitiness and offers a profile that is both pleasantly classic and full of character. In terms of flavor, chocolate-covered raisins, thick kaymak (dulce de leche), and mirabelle plum jam emerge, bringing a juicy, slightly plum-like fruitiness. In the background, buttery biscuits and a subtle note of caramelized sugar are detectable, giving the whole cup a soft, creamy finish. This is a medium-intensity espresso with balanced acidity – it will perform excellently both solo and in milk-based drinks. The coffee comes from the Jinotega region, located in the northern mountains of Nicaragua at altitudes exceeding 1,200 meters above sea level. Behind this coffee are mainly small family farms, where the fruit is harvested by hand from December to March. In the Jinotega region, coffee cultivation is a part of everyday life – most producers rely on traditional working methods and multigenerational experience.ABOUT THE PROCESSINGThe applied fully washed processing method, meaning full wet processing, has a huge impact on the cup's profile. It is precisely responsible for the clarity of flavor, clean finish, and elegant balance of this coffee. The process begins with the selective harvesting of ripe coffee fruit. Pickers choose only red, properly ripe cherries, as even a small share of unripe fruit could disrupt the sweetness and balance of the final brew.Right after the harvest, the fruit goes to a water selection. The coffee cherries are submerged in water to discard light, unripe, or damaged fruits that float to the surface. Next, an additional manual quality control is conducted. The subsequent stage is depulping, which is the separation of the skin and most of the pulp from the bean. After this process, the beans are still covered with a sticky layer of mucilage – natural sugars and pectins. Then the coffee goes into fermentation tanks. This is one of the most important moments of the entire processing. Natural enzymes break down the remnants of the pulp, and producers very precisely control the fermentation time to maintain the cleanliness of the profile and avoid excessive, alcoholic notes. In the case of this coffee, fermentation emphasizes the sweetness and fruitiness while leaving the cup incredibly clear. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly rinsed with clean water. Thanks to this, the last remnants of mucilage are removed, and the coffee gains the elegance, lightness, and structured flavor profile characteristic of washed processing. The next stage is drying. The beans in parchment are spread out on patios or African beds and regularly turned so they dry evenly under the Nicaraguan sun. The process lasts from a few to several days and has a huge impact on the stability and longevity of the flavor. At the end, the parchment husk is removed, and the green beans are sorted by size and quality. The result? An espresso that is simultaneously sweet, creamy, and fluidly fruity. The kind you return to not because it tries to surprise you with an extreme profile, but because it simply tastes great every single day.Store in a cold and dry space.
