However, the Bayter family has rapidly transformed the plantation into one of the most advanced in the industry in terms of complex processing and cultivating a whole range of select, highly sought-after botanical varieties, such as Geisha, Pink Bourbon, Laurina, or Pacamara.Currently, El Vergel is conducting continuous research on bacteria and yeast to achieve even greater precision in controlling fermentation, and consequently, modulating flavor. In addition to coffee production, the Bayters are the force behind Forest, a company involved in both the export and import of green coffees, which means we were able to purchase this coffee directly, without any intermediaries.ABOUT THE COFFEE PROCESSING ON THE FARMThe Caturra variety, hand-picked, processed as washed, and decaffeinated using the sugarcane method with ethyl acetate, which reduces the caffeine content to approximately 0.1%.ROASTER'S OPINIONHonest truth – in a blind tasting, we would have trouble realizing this is a decaf. It tastes like top-tier, classic washed Colombias. Distinct, crisp fruit, but in espresso, it offers primarily high sweetness and plenty of chocolatey notes in the aftertaste. Top-notch!Store in a cool and dry place.

In the cup, you’ll find tasting notes of praline, cherry and dried plum.Country of origin: Costa RicaRegion: Chirripo, BruncaVariety: CaturraFarm: Vista al ChirripoProcessing method: Anaerobic NaturalAltitude: 1300 - 2000 m a.s.l.Costa Rica Vista al Chirripo EspressoSpecialty coffee from Costa Rica with notes of praline, cherry, and prune. Medium roasted specialty coffee Christmas Coffee Costa Rica Vista al Chirripo. This coffee is perfectly suited for all pressure brewing methods, such as an espresso machine or a moka pot.ABOUT THE PLANTATIONThe coffee comes from the Chirripó micro-region in the southern part of Costa Rica, where the Ureña Rojas family runs their farms. This is one of the most consistently developing coffee projects in the region — the family micromill Café Rivense, founded in 2005 by Régulo Ureña and Isabel Rojas, and today managed together with their sons: Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, and Luis. The Vista al Chirripó plantation is located at an altitude of up to ~2000 m a.s.l., overlooking the highest peak in Costa Rica — Cerro Chirripó. It was from this very plantation that the lots which took 5th place in the 2019 Cup of Excellence originated — it is one of the most esteemed terroirs in the entire country. The farm focuses on biodiversity, complete self-sufficiency, and minimal water consumption, and the entire production — from harvesting, through processing, to export — is carried out entirely by the family themselves, without intermediaries.ABOUT THE COFFEEThis is an exceptional lot of the Caturra variety, subjected to anaerobic fermentation and dried in the cherry. This process highlights the juicy fruitiness and deep sweetness, creating a profile full of cherry, prune, and praline creaminess. The cup is smooth, elegant, with a long, sweet finish — perfect as a unique dessert espresso. The cherries are selectively hand-picked and then undergo anaerobic fermentation, where they remain in controlled conditions without access to oxygen. This gives the coffee a deeper color, richness, and dessert character. Afterwards, the cherries are dried naturally to concentrate the sweetness and aroma. The result? An intense, juicy, velvety coffee with a beautifully developed acidity of stone fruits.Store in a dry and cool place.

COFFEE PLANT - Tonic Espresso Blend Espresso 1 kg

Manufacturer: COFFEE PLANT

Roasting date: 25.06.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Kenya and Ethiopia, roasted in Poland by COFFEE PLANT. Dark roast, perfect for espresso, coffee machines, and moka pots. You can expect hints of red fruits, stone fruits and fresh citrus.Country: Kenya, EthiopiaRegion: Nyeri, GujiVarietal: SL28, SL34, HeirloomProcessing: Natural/Fully washedAltitude: 1620-2230 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEEThis coffee was designed for espresso tonic — juicy, refreshing, and distinct enough to hold its own when combined with tonic water. Its profile features red fruits, stone fruits, and subtle citrus, which together build a fresh, fruity character.Washed processed Kenya brings clear, citrusy energy and structure, ensuring the espresso remains distinct even after mixing with tonic. Natural processed Ethiopia adds sweetness and an intense, fruity dimension — ranging from juicy red fruits to ripe stone fruits. The espresso itself is full of energy, clean, and naturally sweet, with a clear freshness in the background. When combined with tonic, the beverage becomes even lighter and more crisp — citrus notes boost the refreshment, fruity sweetness balances the dryness, and the whole composition results in a juicy, clear, and highly drinkable profile.ROASTER'S OPINIONThis coffee was created with espresso tonic in mind — intense, juicy, and bold enough to cut through even when mixed with tonic. Its profile is based on red fruits, stone fruits, and subtle citrus, which together create a fresh, fruity, and crisp character. In combination with tonic, the drink gains fullness and energy. Citrus notes enhance the refreshing effect, fruity sweetness softens the bitterness of the tonic, and the overall experience becomes both juicy and clear. This is exactly the profile expected from a good espresso tonic base — fresh, light, and very drinkable. Perfect for warm days and all moments when you feel like having something truly refreshing.RECIPEEspresso Tonic is a simple yet very refreshing drink, perfect for hot days. Just prepare a tall glass with ice, pour in about 150 ml of tonic, and then gently add a freshly brewed espresso. The result is a light, sparkling drink with a pleasant citrus and coffee character. For extra aroma, you can add a few slices of orange or grapefruit — they will emphasize the freshness and give the drink a more complex flavor profile. For the espresso, a classic recipe works best: 18 g of finely ground coffee to obtain about 35–40 g of brew in approximately 30 seconds. The order is key — tonic first, then espresso. In the reverse version, the drink may foam up excessively and "overflow" from the glass.Store in a dry and cool place.

The farm is environmentally conscious — among other initiatives, it uses a drip irrigation system that reduces water consumption and ensures even cherry development.PROCESSINGThis lot was processed using the natural method.
