COFFEELAB - Decaf But Tasty Washed Espresso 1 kg

Roasting date: 24.08.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Colombia, roasted in Warsaw by Coffeelab. Dark roast, perfect for espresso machines and moka pots. You can expect hints of almonds, amaretto and biscuits.Country: ColombiaRegion: HuilaMethod of decaffeination: SugarcaneProcessing: WashedAltitude: 1400 – 2000 m a.s.l.Variety: Castillo, Caturra, ColombiaABOUT COFFEEIn this edition, Decaf but Tasty! reminds us entirely of tiramisu. First, a dessert-like base of sponge fingers. Then plenty of sweetness, notes of almonds and that sweet-bitter amaretto accent. This coffee comes from Huila, Colombia, and follows a classic washed process. The beans are sourced from small-scale producers working on a few hectares each, where selective picking and controlled fermentation are the norm rather than the exception. Depulped on the day of harvest, fermented for 12–36 hours, then thoroughly washed and dried to the desired moisture level. The result is a clean, structured base that translates into clarity and balanced sweetness in espresso.Caffeine is removed using the EA (ethyl acetate) method. It is a compound that occurs naturally in fruit and as a by-product of sugar fermentation. The green coffee, already processed, is first steamed under low pressure to open up its structure. It is then placed in a water-EA solution, which binds to the caffeine molecules. The process is repeated until caffeine is no longer detectable. Finally, the coffee is steamed once more to remove any remaining traces, then dried and prepared for export. The result is a decaffeinated espresso that feels complete. Sweet, expressive and simply good.Store in a cold and dry space.

It is about 192 km away from Kigali, and coffee cherries from surrounding farms located at 1,500–1,900 meters are processed on site. The high altitude, volcanic mineral-rich soils, and around 1,356 mm of rainfall per year create excellent conditions for growing coffee. In 2026, Baho Coffee continues to make great use of the station's unique location by Lake Kivu. The delicate breeze from the lake and the gentle sun allow the coffee to dry slowly and evenly, resulting in a very clean, full, and intense flavor in the cup. This coffee is famous for its distinct, fresh acidity and complex fruity character. Black Honey is a processing method that enhances the fruity character of the bean. It consists of removing the seed from the cherry, but without cleaning the pulp off of it. We allow it to ferment and interact with the seed - which is our future coffee. This process very often results in a fruit bomb.Besides great coffee, Bugoyi is also a place that attracts visitors with amazing views of the lake.Store in a cool and dry place.

specialty coffee from. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. In the cup, you can expect the hints of almond, caramel and red apple.Origin: ColombiaRegion: Palestina, Huila Farm: CADEFIHUILAVariety: Caturra, TabiProcessing: WashedAltitude: 1700 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE REGION AND THE FARMThe municipality of Palestina is a unique place: it is called the "water and forest factory" of the Huila region. It is characterized by two types of climate: cold and temperate, and coffees from this area differ from the rest of Huila – they are more acidic and delicate, with distinct fruity notes. Our coffee comes from a selected group of producers from the upper part of the municipality of Palestina, located at an altitude of approximately 1700 meters above sea level. This group of farmers has specialized in cultivating varieties such as Tabi and Caturra. Cooperativa Departamental de Caficultores del Huila Ltda. CADEFIHUILA is a non-profit organization and one of the most important coffee cooperatives in Colombia. Its reach covers 27 municipalities, where a support network operates consisting of 45 coffee purchase points, 46 fertilizer stores, 36 agricultural supply stores, 16 permanent cupping laboratories, one mobile laboratory, and 7 points offering drying services. CADEFIHUILA implements programs aimed at achieving high production standards on farms. These standards are based on codes of conduct such as Fairtrade, Rainforest, 4C, and C.A.F.E. Practices. The development of certification processes for these specialized coffees allows the cooperative to meet market demand for coffee purchased under specific conditions.ABOUT THE VARIETYCaturra is a coffee variety that originated as a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety. It was discovered on a plantation in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil between 1915 and 1918. The name "Caturra" comes from the word "Guarani", which means "small". This variety is characterized by the short stature of the plant. Due to its small size and closely spaced branches, it can be planted close together, which increases the yield per given area. Caturra contributed to the intensification of coffee cultivation, especially in Central America, where it was introduced into cultivation in the 1940s. This variety also played a significant role in breeding coffee plants resistant to coffee leaf rust, contributing to the creation of the "Catimor" family of varieties. Tabi is a relatively young variety, created in Colombia as a cross between Bourbon, Typica, and the disease-resistant Timor Hybrid variety. The word "Tabi" comes from the language of the indigenous people of Colombia and means "peace" or "life".ABOUT THE PROCESSINGThe coffee undergoes a traditional washing process, which begins with harvesting ripe cherries, weighing them, and leaving them for 24 hours in a processing tank. Next, the beans are depulped and placed in a water tank, where they are rinsed twice after about 12 hours. Finally, the coffee is dried in the sun or mechanically, depending on the producer's capabilities.Store in a dry and cool place.

The cup is dominated by an intense and clear acidity, typical of the finest Kenyan coffees subjected to fully washed processing. Lime and gooseberry give it a lively, crisp character, while notes of caramel, lemonade, and sugar introduce sweetness and help balance the citrus acidity. The bean underwent the classic Kenyan fully washed processing at the Ngugu-ini washing station, which works with over 1,200 coffee farms. The lot features botanical varieties characteristic of the Kenyan profile: SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11. These coffees are grown at an altitude of 1,600–1,650 m a.s.l., which further contributes to building its distinct, fruity, and acidic character.ROASTER'S OPINIONNguguini is another classic this year with a delicate, somewhat surprising twist. Already in the aroma, it leaves no doubt about its Kenyan character — intense notes of citrus and gooseberry create a distinct, acidic profile. Subtle accents of sugar and lemon zest appear in the background, reminiscent of slightly sweetened lemonade.Store in a cool and dry place.
