COFFEE PLANT - LOW Brownie Filter 800 g

Roasting date: 17.08.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Brazil, roasted in Poland by COFFEE PLANT. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. You can expect hints of chocolate, cocoa and nuts.Country: BrazilRegion: Cerrado/Sul de MinasFarm: Rancho GrandeVarietal: Mundo Nuovo, Acaia, Yellow Bourbon, Processing: Natural CO2/NaturalAltitude: 950 - 1050 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEEIn the package, you will find two coffees from Brazil, processed using the natural method: decaffeinated Mundo Novo from the Cerrado region and a caffeinated blend of Mundo Novo, Acaia, and Yellow Bourbon from the Rancho Grande farm in Sul de Minas. The dry, sunny conditions of Cerrado favor a clean, chocolate-forward profile with pronounced sweetness, while the slower drying on raised beds in the more humid microclimate of Rancho Grande creates greater complexity with notes of nuts and dried fruits. After import to Europe, some of the beans were decaffeinated using the supercritical CO₂ method, which effectively reduces caffeine with minimal impact on aroma and structure, allowing LOW Brownie to retain its full, balanced character. In the cup, chocolate and nuts dominate, with a delicate hint of dried fruits, high sweetness, medium body, low acidity, and a long, chocolate finish. We also verified the caffeine level in the final brew prepared according to the standardized V60 recipe. In 250 g of brewed coffee, we measured 54.4 mg of caffeine. Compared to the same coffee in its fully caffeinated version, this represents a real reduction of about 70% in caffeine content in the brewed coffee.ROASTER'S OPINIONThis coffee has a consistent chocolate-nut character, enriched with a subtle hint of dried fruits that gently highlight the flavor, reminiscent of classic brownies. It is distinguished by pronounced sweetness, medium fullness, very low acidity, and aromas of cocoa and chocolate. The whole is completed by a long, chocolate finish and excellent balance. This is how LOW Brownie – our reduced-caffeine coffee – presents itself.Store in a cold and dry space.

It is also a region with a difficult history, where despite many challenges local producers continue to develop and cultivate coffee of the highest quality. This lot was produced as part of the Black Condor Project – an initiative supporting more than 100 independent farmers through fair pricing, training, and access to modern processing infrastructure. The project is led by Emmanuel, a producer raised in a family with a multi-generational coffee tradition. In 2016, together with his family, he established a central processing station to help farmers from more than 15 nearby villages process their coffee in a controlled, quality-focused way. This approach allows for a consistent and clean sensory profile while also significantly increasing the income of the local community. Farmers are offered prices up to 18–20% higher than the market average, and regular workshops on fermentation, drying, and cupping help continuously improve production standards.ABOUT COFFEEColombia La Roma undergoes a classic washed process, which highlights the natural clarity and elegance of Colombian varieties such as Caturra and Castillo. Careful cherry selection, controlled fermentation, and slow drying contribute to a balanced and harmonious flavor profile. In the cup, this coffee offers notes of chocolate and almonds that create a sweet, creamy base. These are complemented by hints of red fruits, bringing freshness and a delicate fruity acidity. The cup is smooth and velvety, with a pleasant, lingering finish. It is an exceptionally versatile coffee that works beautifully as espresso, where its chocolate-nut depth stands out, and equally well in filter methods, where its fruitier and more complex character becomes more pronounced.Colombia La Roma from the KAFAR roastery is an example of classic Colombian specialty coffee – balanced, elegant, and full of character, while also representing the story of the people who are building the future of their communities through coffee.Store in a cold and dry space.

The farm combines modern cultivation practices with a regenerative approach, utilizing composting, controlled processing methods, and drying in tunnels, which allows for better control over the final profile. At the same time, it serves as a knowledge center for local farmers.By the way, we actually made a mistake here ourselves, one that we usually warn against. Robusta is just one of the varieties of the Canephora species. And in this particular bag, you will find beans of a different Canephora variety – Kaweri. For us, it is simply superb.ABOUT THE SPECIESWe are glad that you are exploring coffea canephora, often called robusta, together with us. For years, this species was mainly associated with cheap blends, but well-cultivated canephora can be intense, sweet, creamy, and surprisingly complex. That is precisely why it is appearing in our selection — to show that the world of coffee is broader than arabica alone. However, it is worth brewing it a bit differently. Canephora is more intense and extractable, which is why we recommend lower temperatures: 86–89°C (it is best to start at 88°C). Water with lower mineralization — around 70 ppm — also works well. You can simply mix your water with distilled water in a 1:1 ratio or use low-mineral water, such as Żywiec Zdrój.Do not be surprised if it tastes different from the coffee you know. That is precisely the point.ROASTER'S OPINIONThe mildest coffee in our offer. Sweet and velvety, while completely devoid of acidity and with very low bitterness. Great as a black coffee, it works perfectly with milk.Store in a cold and dry space.

Coffee cultivation is usually managed by family members, rarely hiring out external workers. 70% of the population wears traditional clothing, and 46% of the producers are women producers. Before the arrival of Spanish conquerors, Tzeltal indigenous people settled in the actual Tzajalchen area. The Aztecan people came and lived here, but in the 16th century, Dominican Friars started to colonize the area. In 1712 Tzeltal people started to rebel against the Dominican people, resulting in the entirety of the population today being the Tzeltal indigenous people.Pedro's father, along with his three brothers, initially grew corn and beans. There weren't any coffee trees planted in the farm. More than 30 years ago, a program of INMECAFE (El Instituto Mexicano del Café) arrived in Tzajalchen and brought coffee seeds of Bourbon and Caturra to plant, and that's how they started coffee cultivation in the area. About 20 years ago, his father handed over the farm to him and his two brothers, then Mr. Pedro began to work organically with his wife and his son. He produced 15 quintales from his 1-ha farm, and bought three more hectares. Now his farm is 4-has and continues to maintain organic practices. The harvest is picked by hand, selecting only 100% ripe cherries, and is usually done in 4 picking sessions per season. Pulping is done on the same day of the harvest, and the coffee is then fermented for 10-16 hours. The drying continues for 3-4 days thanks to the sunny climate on the roof of the house.Store in a cold and dry space.

The green beans are first moistened with water and steam, causing them to swell and open their structure. This allows for the selective separation of caffeine without altering the other components responsible for flavor and aroma. In the next stage, liquid CO₂ under high pressure acts as a natural solvent, removing only the caffeine while leaving valuable compounds within the beans – such as fats, proteins, sugars, and aromatic acids. The process takes place in cycles where the carbon dioxide is recovered and reused until the caffeine is almost completely removed. After the decaffeination is complete, the beans are gently dried at a low temperature to restore their natural moisture. Thanks to the slow and gentle nature of the entire process, the coffee retains its original character – the full flavor, aroma, and quality that make it stand out even in its decaffeinated version.

It is created in cooperation with Senel and Alan Campos — producers who have consistently developed their approach to quality and precise coffee processing over the years. The natural process highlights the fruity character and dense body of the brew. We recommend it primarily for filter brewing methods, where its clarity and multi-layered nature are most pronounced.Finca La Toboba Jocotes is located in the Convento, Pérez Zeledón region of Brunca, Costa Rica, at an altitude of 1420 to 1710 meters above sea level. The farm is run by Senel Campos along with his son Alan, managing three estates spread across the steep terrains of southern Costa Rica.Senel Campos' story is a tale of consistency and gradual development. He grew up in Pérez Zeledón under difficult conditions, sharing a small house with his siblings and often going to school hungry. Despite limited opportunities, he and his family built a project based on high-quality specialty coffee production and an increasingly precise approach to processing.Over the past decade, the processes on the farm have evolved from simple, basic methods to consciously controlled production of honey and natural process lots. Coffees from La Toboba are characterized by a very low number of defects and high consistency in quality. This specific lot of the Catigua variety was subjected to the natural process, which brings out notes of walnut, mandarin, and sugar cane in the cup. The coffee stands out for its high sweetness, performing particularly well in filter brewing methods.Store in a dry and cool place.
