Whole-bean specialty coffee from Kenya and Ethiopia, roasted in Poland by COFFEE PLANT. Dark roast, perfect for espresso, coffee machines, and moka pots. You can expect hints of red fruits, stone fruits and fresh citrus.Country: Kenya, EthiopiaRegion: Nyeri, GujiVarietal: SL28, SL34, HeirloomProcessing: Natural/Fully washedAltitude: 1620-2230 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE COFFEEThis coffee was designed for espresso tonic — juicy, refreshing, and distinct enough to hold its own when combined with tonic water. Its profile features red fruits, stone fruits, and subtle citrus, which together build a fresh, fruity character.Washed processed Kenya brings clear, citrusy energy and structure, ensuring the espresso remains distinct even after mixing with tonic. Natural processed Ethiopia adds sweetness and an intense, fruity dimension — ranging from juicy red fruits to ripe stone fruits. The espresso itself is full of energy, clean, and naturally sweet, with a clear freshness in the background. When combined with tonic, the beverage becomes even lighter and more crisp — citrus notes boost the refreshment, fruity sweetness balances the dryness, and the whole composition results in a juicy, clear, and highly drinkable profile.ROASTER'S OPINIONThis coffee was created with espresso tonic in mind — intense, juicy, and bold enough to cut through even when mixed with tonic. Its profile is based on red fruits, stone fruits, and subtle citrus, which together create a fresh, fruity, and crisp character. In combination with tonic, the drink gains fullness and energy. Citrus notes enhance the refreshing effect, fruity sweetness softens the bitterness of the tonic, and the overall experience becomes both juicy and clear. This is exactly the profile expected from a good espresso tonic base — fresh, light, and very drinkable. Perfect for warm days and all moments when you feel like having something truly refreshing.RECIPEEspresso Tonic is a simple yet very refreshing drink, perfect for hot days. Just prepare a tall glass with ice, pour in about 150 ml of tonic, and then gently add a freshly brewed espresso. The result is a light, sparkling drink with a pleasant citrus and coffee character. For extra aroma, you can add a few slices of orange or grapefruit — they will emphasize the freshness and give the drink a more complex flavor profile. For the espresso, a classic recipe works best: 18 g of finely ground coffee to obtain about 35–40 g of brew in approximately 30 seconds. The order is key — tonic first, then espresso. In the reverse version, the drink may foam up excessively and "overflow" from the glass.Store in a dry and cool place.

The couple focuses on quality and innovation, being among the first farmers in the country to start producing specialty coffee using the honey and natural processing methods.Fun fact: innovation at Las Lajas is not only a matter of development, but also of necessity — in 2008, an earthquake deprived the region of electricity and water during the harvest, making it impossible to run the pulping machines and produce coffee using the washed method. Francisca was inspired by her knowledge of African coffee production and built drying beds on her property, beginning her adventure with natural bean processing.Store in a dry and cool place.

The flavour of the brew resembles sage, licorice and grapes.Origin: IndonesiaRegion: Sumedang, Zachodnia JawaFarm: Rainaldi, Pundit CoffeeSpecies: LibericaVariety: ExcelsaAltitude: 800 m a.s.l.Processing: Anaerobic naturalABOUT THE SPECIES AND VARIETYMaybe you've already noticed – the Brothers (Bracia Ziółkowscy) are collecting more coffee species. Arabica, canephora, liberica. But here we have to throw our hands up and say – it's a matter of debate. Excelsa was discovered in 1903 and since then was considered a separate species. In 2006, its official classification was changed to a variety of liberica. However, many farmers and researchers dispute this decision, pointing to many characteristics unique to excelsa. We won't resolve this dispute. However, we can say with great certainty that, like liberica, excelsa has a unique flavor profile not found in other species. Sage, licorice, exceptionally high sweetness. You can't miss it. Very to the point – the name Si Unyil Manis translates to "the sweet little one".ABOUT THE CULTIVATIONIn coffee, you often hear claims about sustainable and biodiverse farming. Often these are empty words. Meanwhile, excelsa is perfect for precisely these conditions. It gladly grows in the shade of other trees, among many plant species. Si Unyil Manis is cultivated in an equatorial forest, alongside banana trees, tobacco, and tall shade trees. Compared to the nearby oil palm plantations, this is an incredibly vibrant ecosystem.ABOUT THE PROCESSINGThe producer of this coffee, Rainaldi, specializes in excelsa like few others. For years, he has been searching for processing methods that allow full expression of this species' (variety's?) flavor notes. In this case, the full name of the process is "anaerobic thermo soaked natural". In practice, this means that after harvesting, the fruits were given a warm bath, from which they went into fermentation tanks. Further processing is classic natural drying. The warm bath helps eliminate some of the naturally occurring bacteria and fermenting yeast. This results in a more stable and repeatable anaerobic process.ROASTER'S OPINIONA mystery coffee. Is this another – now the fourth species of coffee plant in our offer? Maybe yes, maybe no. But we guarantee that while drinking it, you won't be puzzling over it, because the coffee is spectacular even without mysteries. We were looking for a promotional slogan for this coffee. So far, the best we came up with is: "if you thought geisha was cool, it's clear you haven't tried excelsa yet." And watch out – we aren't joking at all.ROYAL BEANSWhat’s behind the name Royal Beans?
