It comes from the very birthplace of matcha, Kyoto Prefecture. It is also worth noting that it was ground just before being shipped from Japan to our warehouse, making it an exceptionally fresh product. Tencha, meaning the tea leaves used for matcha before grinding, comes from the first harvest and was shaded with covering mats for over three weeks prior to picking. Its flavor profile is further enhanced by the volcanic soils in which the tea bushes are grown.
