Longer withering allows the aromas to concentrate and brings out natural honey sweetness with subtle spicy notes.ABOUT THE TEAIn the cup, the tea displays a distinct honey-floral profile with a fresh yet subtly spiced character. Brightness and lightness combine with delicate warmth, creating a multilayered and elegant bouquet. The tea shares the structure of a lightly oxidized black tea while maintaining the clarity of a green tea.To obtain 500 kg of this grade of tea, approximately 2 tons of finished tea are processed. Around 1.5 tons are sorted into smaller grades, leaving only the most refined leaves for this variety.Technically speaking, calling this tea Darjeeling would be incorrect, as it is produced in the Ilam region of Nepal, about 70 km from Darjeeling. For this reason, we simply named it Darj.It is worth noting that some Indian producers purchase Nepalese tea to subsequently blend it into Darjeeling teas.
