Hi! Coffeedesk - Juicy Monster Filter 250 g

Manufacturer: HI! COFFEEDESK

Roasting date: 10.06.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Kenya. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. In the cup, you can expect the hints of black currants, grapefruit, red currant, tea and brown sugar.Origin: KenyaRegion: KirinyagaFarm: Kiamutuira Washing Station / Mutira Cooperative SocietyVariety: SL28, SL34, BatianProcessing: WashedAltitude: 1650–1700 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE FARMKiamutuira is a factory (washing station) in the Kirinyaga region, belonging to the Mutira Cooperative Society. The factory itself has been operating since 1996, and the cooperative has been a part of Kenyan coffee history since 1951. The coffee comes from approximately 600 smallholders, with the average farm measuring just 0.1 ha. Small scale. Great precision. The crops are situated at an altitude of 1,650–1,700 meters above sea level, near the forest boundary of Mount Kenya. The soils are volcanic, and macadamia trees appear among the shade trees. Tea is also grown in the region, which reflects the climate of the area well: high, green, humid, with excellent conditions for the slow ripening of cherries. The coffee is processed using the washed method, so we expect cleanliness, high acidity, and classic Kenyan juiciness.ROASTER'S OPINIONThis is Kenya in a good, precise style. High acidity, plenty of juiciness, a clean profile, and that exact character you look for in Kirinyaga. Blackcurrant, citrus, tea. Zero randomness. A coffee like this does not need stories about magic. It needs a good recipe.Store in a dry and cool place.

Light roast – perfect for pour-over brewing methods such as drip, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, batch brewers, and other alternative methods. In the cup, you’ll find notes of citrus, red currants, black tea and honey.Origin: KenyaRegion: KirinyagaFarm: MugayaProcessing method: WashedVariety: SL28, SL34Altitude: 1700 – 1800 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE FARM AND REGIONMugaya is a washing station established in 1975, operating under the Mutira Farmers’ Cooperative Society. It is located in the Kirinyaga region, Kagumo area, at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Coffee cherries are delivered to it by over 1,700 small-scale producers who grow coffee mainly on small plots of land. The crops are situated at an altitude of approximately 1,700–1,800 meters above sea level. The region is characterized by red volcanic soils, good access to water, and conditions that favor slower ripening of the fruit. Longer ripening can support the development of sweetness, acidity, and a more complex sensory profile. This is a classic Kenyan production model: small farms, a central washing station, fruit selection, and a consistently managed process. Simple. Effective. Good.ABOUT THE VARIETYThe dominant varieties are SL28 and SL34. These are classic Kenyan Arabica varieties, valued for their high sensory potential, especially in terms of vibrant acidity, fruitiness, and the structure of the brew.Batian and Ruiru 11 may also appear in smaller quantities, which are varieties introduced, among other reasons, for the plants' greater resistance to diseases. However, the character of this coffee is primarily built by SL28 and SL34.ABOUT THE PROCESSINGAfter harvest, the coffee cherries are delivered to the station and sorted. Then, the skin and part of the pulp are removed from the fruit, and the beans undergo fermentation, washing, and drying on raised beds. In the case of Mugaya, clean water from the Rwamuthambi River is used in the process. The washed process allows for limiting the influence of the pulp on the coffee's flavor and better showcases the natural acidity, cleanliness of the aroma, and structure of the brew.RECIPERatio: 60 g of coffee per 1 liter of waterWater temperature: 93°CGrind: mediumBrewing time: 3:30 minutesMethod: Pour water over the coffee in 5 equal parts (e.g., 5x 60g) at 30-second intervals. The water should completely drain through the coffee between pours. If the water flows too slowly or too quickly, change the grind size to coarser/finer.Remember to use soft, filtered water!Store in a dry and cool place.
COFFEE PLANT - Kenya Muthuaini Washed Filter 250 g

Manufacturer: COFFEE PLANT

Roasting date: 28.04.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee beans from Kenya, roasted by COFFEE PLANT from Poland. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. You can expect hints of tomato, lemon and blackberry.Origin: KenyaRegion: Nyeri, KaratinaFarma: Muthuaini Washing StationProcessing: Fully WashedVariety: SL28, SL34Altitude: 1700-1800 m a.s.l.ABOUT THE FARMThe Mutheka Farmers’ Co-operative Society is an example of what is most important in Kenyan agriculture — the strength of the community, local experience, and grassroots work. Operating in the Nyeri region, in the heart of the Kenyan coffee sector, the cooperative brings farmers together, creating a space for collaboration and the joint improvement of production quality. The organization is based on a cooperative model, supporting its members in production, logistics, and sales, which allows them to reach the market more effectively and increase the value of their coffee. Thanks to this, smallholders benefit from the knowledge, infrastructure, and experience of the entire community.Although the cooperative is not widely known in the media, it constitutes an important element of Kenyan agriculture — stable and based on local commitment. The Mutheka Farmers’ Co-operative Society is, above all, about the people: their work, tradition, and the pursuit of quality that shape contemporary agriculture in Kenya.ROASTER'S OPINIONIn this bag, you will find a classic, well-balanced Kenya — a blend of the two most valued botanical varieties in the country: SL28 and SL34. This combination is the foundation of Kenyan quality and is responsible for the characteristic, expressive profile of this region. In the aroma, the coffee presents itself very fresh and complex — notes of lemon, berries, and a delicate, slightly savory (umami) background appear, giving it depth. The flavor is dominated by citrus, especially lemon, intertwined with juicy blackberry and subtle, dry accents reminiscent of tomato. The body is medium, round, and pleasantly mouth-filling. The whole experience is completed by a long, fruity aftertaste and a vibrant, refreshing acidity with a slightly sparkling character, which gives the coffee energy and freshness. This is a classic Kenya in a very refined, clean form — intense yet elegant, and perfect for the increasingly warm days.RECIPEKenya captivates with its beautiful and sparkling acidity, which is why we recommend a dripper for this coffee — Hario V60 or Origami. For a 300 ml brew, use 18 g of medium-coarsely ground coffee (22-24 clicks on a Comandante), water at a temperature of 93-94°C, and pour as follows:0:00 – 55 ml (swirl the dripper)0:30 – 120 ml1:00 – 180 ml1:30 – 240 ml2:00 – 300 mlGently swirl at the end.Store in a cool and dry place.

It stands out for its dark fruit notes and tropical character, while maintaining a distinct structure and being very pleasant in taste. This lot comes from the Ndurutu washing station in the Nyeri Central region of Kenya, where it is grown at an altitude of 1700–1720 meters above sea level. The station has been operating since 1999 and currently works with over 527 smallholder farmers growing mainly SL28, SL34, and Ruiru 11 varieties on volcanic soils. The process is a long, anaerobic natural process with a unique "Sleeping Bag" drying technique: after selective hand-picking and sorting by ripeness, the cherries undergo anaerobic fermentation lasting over 300 hours, and then are dried using the "Sleeping Bag" method, which concentrates sweetness and develops a winey, fruity character in the cup.ROASTER'S OPINIONA strong Kenyan natural coffee with a winey, tropical, and very distinctive flavor profile. Passion fruit and blueberries give it a distinct fruity character, while dark chocolate adds richness and depth. The brew is complex, sweet, and full of character, and the long aftertaste makes all the flavors blend together perfectly. It is expressive and strong, yet still maintains balance and is great to drink – an excellent Kenyan coffee for those who appreciate true intensity.V60 RECIPEwater temperature: 92 degrees Celsius,300 g water,21 g coffee, grind size 7 (Fellow Ode II)Blooming 75 g water pour: 0-0:10,150 g water pour: 0:30-0:40,225 g water pour: 1:00-1:10,300 g water pour: 1:30-1:40.All water should finish drawdown around 2:10 - 2:20.Store in a dry and cool place.

Notes of blackcurrant, plum, and mandarin are juicy and vibrant. Caramel, syrupy sweetness, and black tea add depth as it cools.ABOUT THE FARMGachami Factory is located in the famous coffee growing region of Kirinyaga. It is owned by Baragwi Farmer Cooperative Society (FCS), one of the largest cooperatives in Kenya in terms of both coffee volume and membership. Around 1,200 smallholder farmers deliver cherries to the factory for processing, growing mostly SL28 and SL34 cherries between 1,700 and 1,800 meters above sea level. Farmers typically manage small plots averaging 250 coffee trees, which are usually grown alongside subsistence food crops, fruit trees and other crops.ABOUT THE PROCESSCherries are carefully hand-picked before being delivered to Gachami. At the factory, the cherries are carefully hand-sorted to ensure the highest quality. Only the ripest are selected and pulped. After pulping, the coffee is fermented for 16 to 24 hours. The parchment is then washed through grading channels using clean water before being soaked in clean, circulating water for around 24 hours. Recent research has shown that the step also has added benefit to the coffee’s final quality and longevity, adding clarity to the cup. After soaking, the coffee is delivered to dry on raised beds, where it will be turned regularly and covered during the hottest part of the day and evenings to ensure even drying. Typical drying time is 15 to 21 days, depending on the weather.ROASTER'S OPINIONA New Season Is Here! A special moment every year, the latest Kenyan harvest has just arrived in Berlin. From the famous region of Kirinyaga, bright fruit and syrupy sweetness make Gachami a must-try filter.Store in a cold and dry space.

COFFEE PLANT - Kenya Tegu Fully Washed Filter 250 g

Manufacturer: COFFEE PLANT

Roasting date: 05.06.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Kenya, roasted by Coffee Plant. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. In the cup, you can expect the hints of tomato, caramel, peach and currants.Origin: KenyaRegion: NyeriProcessing:  Fully washedVariety: SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11Altitude: 1700 m a.s.lABOUT THE COFFEETomato notes take center stage in the aroma, reminiscent of tomato leaves – distinct and very characteristic. They are accompanied by sweet caramel and slightly underripe peach. The flavor profile is even more complex – the tomato character combines with notes of redcurrant, peach, and caramel. The coffee has a high, almost sparkling acidity associated with currants and a clear, slightly umami character that creates its dry twist. The body is high and smooth, and the aftertaste is long and fruity, with a delicate, dry accent. This is a direction you will also see in subsequent coffees from Kenya from this year's harvest.ROASTER'S OPINIONAt the Tegu washing station, the coffee undergoes multi-stage wet processing characteristic of Kenya. After initial selection, the cherries go to the first fermentation stage, which lasts about 24 hours. They are then washed and moved to another fermentation tank. After the pulp is removed, the beans go into washing channels where lighter beans (so-called floaters) are separated, and the heavier ones are thoroughly cleaned of the sticky layer surrounding the bean (mucilage). The next stage is soaking the beans again for about 24 hours. This process promotes the development of amino acids and proteins, which translates into higher acidity and greater complexity of the fruity profile – a key element of Kenyan coffees. Finally, the beans are spread in a thin layer on African beds, where they initially lose some moisture quickly, and are then regularly turned and dried until they reach about 11% moisture. After drying, the coffee is hulled, packed, and undergoes a short stabilization stage before export.RECIPEThis coffee responds well to the brewing method – you can emphasize its juicy, currant acidity or bring out its more savory, tomato-like character. In a V60, it is at its most juicy and distinct – redcurrant, peach, and high, sparkling acidity. In an Origami, the profile balances out, and the tomato twist becomes more legible. In an AeroPress, the coffee is smoother and fuller, with a more pronounced umami character.Lower temperatures emphasize freshness and fruit, while higher temperatures bring out depth and strengthen the savory profile. A coarser grind provides more lightness and acidity, while a finer grind yields more body and umami. We recommend a medium-coarse grind (25 clicks on a Comandante) and a drip brewing method – such as the Origami – with a dose of 17 g per 240 ml of water.Using water at 95°C, pour according to the following timeline:0:30 – 50 ml , 0:50 – 110 ml , 1:15 – 200 ml , 2:40 – 240 mlGently stir at the end.Store in a cold and dry space.

Light roasted specialty coffee Kenya AA Rift Valley. This specialty coffee is perfectly suited for all pour-over methods, such as V60, Chemex, batch brewer, and Aeropress.ABOUT THE COFFEEKenyan coffees have been recognized for years as some of the most distinctive and expressive in the world. Kenya AA Rift Valley is a classic example of the juicy, fruity profile for which this region is famous. In the cup, you can detect intense notes of raspberries and grapefruit, balanced by a sweet, caramel finish. The light roast highlights high clarity of flavor, fruity acidity, and a long, clean aftertaste. This is a coffee for those who appreciate the freshness, juiciness, and complex character of pour-over specialty coffees.ABOUT THE PLANTATIONKenya AA Rift Valley coffees come from regions located around Mount Kenya, such as Kiambu, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and Embu, where the crops are situated at altitudes ranging from 1600 to 2000 m a.s.l. Fertile clay-loam soils and high cultivation altitude favor the development of coffees with intense fruitiness and high sweetness. Most production in Kenya relies on the fully washed method, which emphasizes the purity and clarity of flavor. The coffee cherries are carefully sorted, fermented overnight, and then dried on African beds for 8–14 days. It is precisely thanks to this precision in processing that Kenyan coffees are famous for their distinct acidity, juicy fruit notes, and an exceptionally clean profile in the cup.Store in a dry and cool place.

The cooperative was founded in 2001 and today brings together several thousand small-scale coffee producers who cultivate their trees on small family farms. It has been Fairtrade certified since 2011 and consistently invests in improving coffee quality and the living conditions of its members. The operational model of New Gikaru is typical for the best Kenyan cooperatives. Farmers deliver cherries to local washing stations, and the cooperative itself is responsible for financing, quality control, and coffee sales. This system allows even small farms to benefit from professional infrastructure and achieve the quality that Kenyan specialty coffee is famous for. New Gikaru includes several washing stations, including Ichamara, Mutwewathi, Kahuro, Kiuu, and Thangathi.Members of the cooperative primarily cultivate SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11 varieties at an altitude of 1400–1600 m a.s.l., on fertile red volcanic soils. In addition to coffee production, New Gikaru conducts training for farmers, supports women and young producers, and invests in infrastructure, such as solar dryers and modern drying beds. Thanks to this, it has for years belonged to the group of the most valued specialty coffee producers from the Nyeri region.ROASTER'S OPINIONA very classic Kenya! Whole-bean specialty coffee from Kenya, roasted by Bracia Ziółkowscy roasting brand. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. The brew resembles the flavour of raspberry and caramel.Origin: KenyaRegion: Hrabstwo EmbuFarm: Kibugu Farmers' Cooperative Variety: SL-34, Ruiru 11, SL-28, BatianProcessing: WashedAltitude: 1700 m a.s.l.Cupping score: 87 / 100ABOUT THE FARMGikirima Factory is one of five washing stations belonging to the Kibugu Cooperative Society in the Embu region of central Kenya. Coffee is delivered there by around one thousand small producers, who own an average of 2 hectares of land and about 300 coffee trees each. In addition to coffee, the farmers also cultivate passion fruit, maize, beans, and tea, among other crops.ABOUT THE PROCESSINGThe coffee is processed using the fully washed method, which is classic for Kenya. The cherries are hand-sorted, and then undergo fermentation lasting from 18 to 36 hours. After washing and additional selection, the beans dry on African raised beds for about 12–20 days. The altitude of the crops (approx. 1700 m a.s.l.) and the red, volcanic Nitisol soil characteristic of the region have a major impact on the quality here. The Kenyan specialty coffee production system is based on cooperatives and a high level of transparency. Farmers can choose which washing station they deliver their cherries to, and the best washing stations compete with one another through quality and the level of payouts to the farmers.ROASTER'S OPINIONLight, fresh, and raspberry-like, with a citrus twist and high sweetness. Very "Kenyan" in the best sense of the word. This is the kind of coffee that, even if you are already thinking "how much more Kenya can I take?", you will immediately stop thinking that way.Store in a dry and cool place.

COFFEE PLANT - Kenya Gitare Washed Filter 250 g

Manufacturer: COFFEE PLANT

Roasting date: 09.03.2026

Whole-bean specialty coffee from Kenya, roasted in Poland by COFFEE PLANT. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. You can expect hints of orange, flowers, candid fruits and red currant.Origin: KenyaFarm: Gitare Washing StationVariety: SL28, SL34Processing: Fully WashedAltitude: 1620-1830 m a. s. l.BOUT THE FARMGitare is a respected coffee mill located in the picturesque Kiambu region of Kenya, owned by the Gititu Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS). It has operated continuously since 1954, combining decades of tradition with extensive experience in producing top-quality coffee. The mill processes coffee cherries delivered by approximately 1,000 smallholder farmers, who together produce close to 2,500 tons of coffee annually. Many farmers practice intercropping, growing coffee alongside bananas and maize, which improves soil fertility and supports local biodiversity. Coffee pulp residues from processing are composted and reused as natural fertilizer, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly farming methods. Thanks to a harmonious blend of traditional practices, modern processing techniques, and strong environmental stewardship, Gitare produces coffees with a distinctive character and a rich, multidimensional flavor profile, highly regarded on international markets.PROCESSINGThe first stage of processing is fermentation lasting approximately 24 hours. The beans are then thoroughly washed and transferred to a second fermentation tank for an additional 12–24 hours. After this stage, they pass through washing channels where lighter beans (so-called floaters) are separated, while the heavier beans are cleaned of remaining pulp.Following washing, the beans are soaked in water tanks for up to 24 hours. This stage encourages the development of amino acids and proteins, resulting in higher acidity and greater complexity of fruity notes—hallmark characteristics of Kenyan coffees. At the final stage, the beans are dried on African raised beds. Initially, they are spread in a thin layer to quickly remove about 50% of the moisture within roughly 6 hours. They are then piled more thickly and dried for an additional 5–10 days. The dried parchment coffee is delivered to the dry mill and later stored in ventilated warehouses, where it rests until it reaches a moisture content of approximately 11%.ROASTER’S OPINIONKenya Gitare presents a classic flavor profile characteristic of the Kiambu terroir. The coffee features well-developed, medium and complex acidity, balanced by high sweetness and a full, pronounced body. The aroma reveals notes of currants, candied fruit, and delicate floral accents. On the palate, blackcurrants and oranges dominate, complemented by the sweetness of candied fruits. The cup is harmonious and exceptionally well-balanced, with pleasant medium acidity and clear sweetness. The finish is long, clean, distinctly currant-forward, and deeply satisfying. A superb example of a classic coffee from the Kiambu region.BREW RECIPEThe sweetness and rich aroma of this coffee make it very easy to brew, with results that are usually close to expectations. To make things even easier, we recommend the following recipe, which allows the coffee to open up fully without excessive intensity.Drip method (e.g. Origami)18 g medium-coarse ground coffee (22 clicks on a Comandante)Water temperature: 95°CPour as follows:0:00 – 55 ml (stir the dripper)0:30 – 120 ml1:00 – 180 ml1:30 – 240 ml2:00 – 300 mlFinish with a gentle stir.Store in a cold and dry space.

After drying, the coffee is hulled, packed, and undergoes a short stabilization stage before export.RECIPEFrom currant to tomato: in all conditionsOpen the sachet. Remove the filter and tear off the top strip along the line marked OPEN.. Place the filter on the mug. Unfold the paper wings and hook the filter onto the rim of a tall mug.. Pour hot water. Pour hot water (90–95°C) over the filter twice. Pour a total of 160–180 ml in two portions, allowing the water to slowly permeate through the coffee.. Enjoy the taste wherever you are! After brewing is complete, remove the filter from the mug and enjoy wherever you are.Store in a cool, dry place.
