A fresh, brisk green tea with leaves shaped like pine needles. It has been produced in small quantities for over 400 years by local communities in Anhua, China.
In our opinion, this is the finest example of classic Chinese green tea. Pine Needle, also known as Song Zhen, may not have achieved the widespread fame of giants like Long Jing, but it remains a niche tea, beautiful in its traditional simplicity.
It is distinguished by the floral character typical of Chinese green teas and a deep, sweet flavor reminiscent of blanched green vegetables. This is the essence of Chinese green tea, unclouded by surprising flavor twists, yet surprising in how well true classic simplicity works.
