TEA OF THE MONTH: Leaf Liturgy - Kojin Hojicha - Loose Tea 50g
Kōjin is the guardian of the hearth—and Leaf Liturgy Hōjicha embodies that same comforting spirit. This exceptional Japanese green tea is roasted over high heat, giving it a deep, caramel-nutty flavor with a subtle smoky aroma. The roasting process significantly reduces its caffeine content, making it an ideal choice for an evening ritual or a quiet moment during the day.
Hōjicha is warm and embracing, yet light and harmonious. Unlike classic green teas, it contains no grassy or astringent notes—instead, it offers a smooth character with gentle sweetness, reminiscent of roasted almonds and caramel.
Thanks to its digestive-supporting properties, Hōjicha is highly recommended after heavy or fatty meals. It helps regulate the body’s fat metabolism and soothes the stomach in a natural, gentle way.
Enjoy it the traditional way—hot—or try it as a cold brew to bring out its sweet, nutty notes. It can also be steeped twice—the second infusion will be more delicate but still flavorful.
Brewing Instructions:
Amount: 3 g per 250 ml of water
Temperature: 75–90°C
Steep time: 2–3 minutes
Brew at a lower temperature (around 75°C) for a sweeter, more delicate infusion, or use hotter water (around 90°C) to bring out the smoky, roasted notes. After the first steep, you can re-infuse the leaves—your second cup will be lighter, but still aromatic.
Ingredients: Green tea.
