From other continents too, but at this moment – from Africa the most. Warmth, sunshine, nothing left to do but sip these juicy coffees day after day.These beans come from the Iloma AMCOS cooperative in the Songwe region of Tanzania. 391 farmers deliver coffee to this cooperative. They cultivate coffee at an altitude between 1800 and 1900 meters above sea level on fertile volcanic soils.The cherries are processed using the washed method – after harvesting, they go straight to the station, where they spend about 24 hours in water, and then dry for 11–14 days.In the cup, the coffee is like juice. Notes of redcurrants and lemongrass. Coffee first appeared in the territories of modern-day Tanzania in the 16th century, initially in the Bukoba region, where local varieties were grown even before the colonial period. Currently, Tanzania produces an average of about 50–70 thousand tons of coffee per year, mostly Arabica.I am no coffee prophet, but I have a hot take that Tanzania is the new Kenya. Rooibos infusion by HAYB. Its leaves resemble pine needles. Rooibos is not tea plant, therefore the infusion does not contain caffeine or tannins. The green rooibos comes from the same plant as the red rooibos, it differs only in the way the leaves are processed after harvest. Green rooibos is not fermented, so its infusion is lighter, with hints of citrus.The infusion is golden in colour, with a distinctive and spicy aroma. Thanks to the presence of red and white pepper and ginger, the taste of the brew is slightly spicy, but leaves some sweetness on the tongue. You can infuse it twice, with longer second brewing. The taste of the next infusion becomes milder, with notes of vanilla and lemon.Due to its spicy taste, it works very well in the fall and winter season.
