ABOUT THE COFFEE
Ethiopia Gatta Natural Gr. 1 comes from Gatta, located in Shantawene village in the Sidama Bensa region, at an altitude of 2120–2210 m a.s.l. It is a 74158 variety coffee, processed using the natural method.In the cup, delicate notes of violets meet the sweetness of papaya and a distinct accent of blackcurrant. The floral and tropical profile creates a combination for those looking for fruitiness and a characteristic aroma in Ethiopian coffees.
ABOUT THE FARM
Gatta is part of Daye Bensa and serves as a center for a specialty coffee program. The farm is surrounded by a natural forest, ancient native trees, rivers, and waterfalls. It takes its name from the waterfall flowing through its grounds.The first coffee trees were planted here in 2013, and the drying station was launched in 2017. The surrounding vegetation provides natural shade for both the crops and the station. Local residents work on the cultivation, harvesting, and processing.Gatta also functions as a training center offering coffee processing courses.
