Specialty-grade whole bean coffee from Kenya, roasted by CaffenationLight roast, ideal for filter coffee makers, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other alternative brewing methods. Its flavor profile features exotic notes of platane, cocos and melon, very sweet and balanced, classic kenya citrus.

Country of origin: Kenya

Region: Kirinyaga

Farm: Karimikui

Variety: SL's & Batian, Ruiru

Processing method: Washed

Cupping score: 88 / 100

Altitude: 1800 m a.s.l.

FROM THE ROASTERY:

First roasted by us in 2011, KARIMIKUI quickly earned its place in history — featured alongside the legendary Thunguri in the World Aeropress Championship that year (yes, we won!).

Since then, we’ve brought it back in 2012, 2014, 2021, and 2024 — and now again with two fresh lots from this harvest. Though they differ in screen size, the taste profiles are remarkably close. We’re confident you’ll love them both.

Produced at the Karimikui factory, part of the Rungeto Co-op (along with Kii and Kiangoi), this coffee is mostly made up of SL28 and SL34 — the backbone of Kenya’s finest cups — with a touch of Ruiru 11 in the mix.
