ABOUT THE COFFEE

Ethiopia Halo Beriti is a cup full of subtlety, where citrus freshness intertwines with the velvety sweetness of ripe fruit. The first impression brings to mind Earl Grey with lemon – an aromatic tea with a delicately citrus character, light crispness, and an elegant finish. Apricots and peaches appear in the background, giving the brew a soft, fruity sweetness. Mandarin orange completes the whole with a juicy, fresh accent.

The beans come from Ethiopia, where coffee is grown at an altitude of approximately 2,200 meters above sea level. This location favors the slow ripening of the fruit, thereby developing the complex character of the beans. In this lot, the JARC 74110 and JARC 74112 varieties were used, along with local varieties collectively referred to as Heirloom.

The coffee underwent washed processing, which is the wet method. After harvesting, the ripe cherries are selected and then stripped of their skin and pulp in the depulping process. The beans, surrounded by a layer of mucilage, go into fermentation, which helps remove the remaining pulp. They are then thoroughly rinsed with clean water and dried until they reach the appropriate moisture content. Thanks to this process, clarity is clearly marked in the flavor, and individual fruity and tea notes can resonate with great transparency.

Halo Beriti is a choice for lovers of Ethiopian coffees with a tea-like profile, citrus freshness, and delicate fruity sweetness. Earl Grey with lemon gives it a distinct, aromatic character, while apricot, peach, and mandarin orange bring sweetness and freshness that balance beautifully in the cup.
