Roasting date: 20.07.2026
(TAX included)
Cascara is dried peel of the coffee cherry which allows you to prepare delicious brew. You’ll notice notes of honey, dried apple and wild rose.
Country: Colombia
Region: Bruselas, Huila
Farm: Nogales
Processing: Washed
Variety: Caturra
It can be brewed like tea, in a French Press, or cold—it is a great way to make refreshing drinks.
Cascara, but not just any kind!
This cascara undergoes a process that extracts the maximum flavor from it. After being separated from the beans, the skins undergo a 6-hour anaerobic fermentation, which gives them more natural sweetness, depth, and more intense fruity notes. They are then dried for 4 days under controlled conditions—at a stable temperature and low humidity. This allows it to maintain a clean flavor profile and full aroma.
The result? A light, juicy infusion with notes of dried apples, rosehip, and honey sweetness. Thanks to naturally occurring caffeine, it gently stimulates while remaining refreshing and highly drinkable.
It's a great alternative to coffee and tea—something between a fruit infusion and the world of coffee, but with its own unique character.
ROASTER'S OPINION
Okay, let's start with this: THIS IS NOT COFFEE. YOU DO NOT GRIND THIS. Cascara is the dried skin and pulp of coffee cherries, which is brewed like tea. The infusion is light, fruity, and naturally sweet, with notes of dried apples, honey, and rosehip. Add 18 g, pour in 300 ml of hot water, wait 4 minutes—and it's ready!
RECIPE
- Method: French Press, Clever Dripper, or a mug
- Ratio: 6 g of cascara per 100 ml of water (yes, you still don't need to grind it :) )
- Brewing time: 4 minutes
- Number of brews: 2–3. For subsequent brews, use less water to maintain flavor intensity.
Store in a dry and cool place.
