ABOUT THE COFFEE
Mairana is located in the Santa Cruz Department, on the eastern slopes of the Andes, adjacent to Amboró National Park. It is a much less known coffee-growing region in Bolivia than Yungas, but in recent years it has been increasingly marking its presence on the specialty coffee map. Leonardo Garcia grows coffee here at an altitude of 1,650 meters above sea level. In the bag, you will find beans of the IPR 103 variety – a cross between Catuaí and Icatu bred in Brazil. It is characterized by high productivity, copes well with heat and less fertile soils, and shows good resistance to coffee leaf rust. IPR 103 has taken root particularly well in the Santa Cruz region and is today one of the most important varieties cultivated there.
ROASTER'S OPINION
A phenomenon – Kenyan notes submerged in marzipan. Very fruity, floral, with a long lingering aftertaste. On top of that, a rarely found origin. A must-try!
