All Beriti coffee is produced within an agroecological, polycultural farming system known as “garden coffee,” where the plants grow in the shade of enset trees (so-called false banana trees). The harvested cherries are dried on the farms for around three weeks. After the removal of the jenfel layer and careful hand sorting, the green beans are transported to a dry processing facility in Addis Ababa, where they undergo the final stages of processing.
