The Abadatezuka cooperative is a group of smallholder farmers from the Western Province in Rwanda, who deliver fresh coffee cherries to the Cyato washing station established in 2017 in the Nyamasheke district. The local producers cultivate coffee at altitudes reaching up to 2,200 meters above sea level, and the station itself is located at 1,850 meters above sea level.
Fun fact: a peculiar aspect of this coffee is that its "unique profile" is partly attributed to the indigenous honeybees inhabiting the Nyungwe forest and its surrounding areas, where the crops are grown. Bee-assisted pollination, fertile humus-sandy soil, and a cool climate resulting from the proximity of Lake Kivu all contribute to the flavor of this coffee.
