These are profiles with low to medium acidity and a medium to high, pleasantly sticky body.In the case of this specific lot from the current harvest, the character remains very consistent with what we usually expect from Nemba. The aroma is dominated by berries, caramel, and citrus — above all lemon, which gives the whole profile freshness and lightness. In the flavor, distinct blackcurrant, juicy blueberries, and again lemon and sweet caramel appear, building a harmonious, well-balanced structure.The body is medium, but distinctly sticky and oily, which adds fullness and depth to the coffee. It was discovered on a plantation in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil between 1915 and 1918. The name "Caturra" comes from the word "Guarani", which means "small". This variety is characterized by the short stature of the plant. Due to its small size and closely spaced branches, it can be planted close together, which increases the yield per given area. Caturra contributed to the intensification of coffee cultivation, especially in Central America, where it was introduced into cultivation in the 1940s. This variety also played a significant role in breeding coffee plants resistant to coffee leaf rust, contributing to the creation of the "Catimor" family of varieties. Tabi is a relatively young variety, created in Colombia as a cross between Bourbon, Typica, and the disease-resistant Timor Hybrid variety. The word "Tabi" comes from the language of the indigenous people of Colombia and means "peace" or "life".ABOUT THE PROCESSINGThe coffee undergoes a traditional washing process, which begins with harvesting ripe cherries, weighing them, and leaving them for 24 hours in a processing tank. Tea is also grown in the region, which reflects the climate of the area well: high, green, humid, with excellent conditions for the slow ripening of cherries. His father was a legend of Guji during his lifetime, building the region's first wet mill in the early 2000s, whose infrastructure began to be used by small producers of the Bule Hora community. When the Ethiopian government liberalized export regulations in 2018, which practically opened up opportunities for smallholders to sell their coffee outside the country, Tagel founded the Olkai company and, in addition to exporting, also took over the coordination of the Hambela Goro mill.The coffee comes from 460 small producers in the area, from an impressive altitude of approx. 2,300 meters above sea level. They cultivate the local 74110 variety here, and many of them own only a few hundred trees. The organization, standards, and cleanliness at Hambela Goro made a big impression on us, as did the incredibly clean and consistent lots that we had the opportunity to taste fresh while still on site.ABOUT THE COFFEE BEAN PROCESSING ON THE FARMVariety 74110, hand-picked by 460 small producers from around Hambela Goro, depulped, and then fermented in a tank for 48 hours. Bette Buna is committed to improving the quality of life for its community members – it teaches local farmers how to improve soil quality, restore agroforestry systems, and understand the importance of harvesting ripe cherries. Ripe cherries weigh more and yield better coffee, so farmers receive higher pay per kilogram, as well as a quality premium. The company also distributes over 350,000 seedlings from its own nursery every year.Fun fact: The coffee underwent a decaffeination process at the Coffein Compagnie using a solution of water and ethyl acetate, which occurs naturally in sugar cane, coffee, and fruits. In several stages, caffeine was gently and selectively extracted from the beans, allowing the green coffee to retain a profile closely linked to the original batch.Store in a cold and dry space.

In addition to the Nyagishiru CWS plantation, his company also owns two other plantations in the Kayanza province.
