Swerl is a micro roastery located in Falkenberg, Sweden, founded by Beatriz and Daniel, a dynamic duo with backgrounds in sommelier expertise and technical engineering. What started as a mobile coffee bar in a 1972 Mercedes bus gradually transformed into a full-fledged roastery in 2022, after years of hands-on experience in both Sweden and Portugal.
Today, Swerl specializes in roasting freshly harvested, seasonal coffees, with a focus on clean, vibrant flavors that highlight the unique characteristics of each harvest and the producers behind them. With a strong dedication to quality and sustainability, Swerl has garnered international acclaim and recently earned 2nd place in the Nordic's Best Roasters 2025.

Swerl Coffee x Coffeedesk - Rwanda Vincent Rukenbuga Anaerobic Natural Filter 250g
Roasting date: 23.04.2025
Special edition! Whole-bean specialty coffee from Rwanda, roasted for Coffeedesk by Swerl roasting brand in Sweden. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. Tasting like cherry jam, dark chocolate, candy and with some florals reminiscent of violets. Sweet and slightly boozy. Country: RwandaRegion: Western ProvinceVarietal: Red BourbonProcessing: Anaerobic NaturalAltitude: 1960 m a.s.l.It is a pleasure to welcome the first lot from Vincent Rukeribuga that Swerl Coffee sources through our partners at Café Imports. Vincent Rukeribuga owns and operates his own farm located in Kamonyi village, within the Cyato region of Rwanda. He started out as a coffee farmer in 1989 with only 100 seedlings, and slowly expanded his production over time. According to Vincent, he noticed that his neighbors were able to support funding higher education for their children through coffee production, and was determined to do the same.Vincent's attention to detail in cherry selection and cultivation of his coffee plants was realized as he was delivering coffee to a local mill and it was decided to develop anaerobically fermented lots with him. Vincent's cherries are kept separate to maintain traceability back to his farm.Once a week Vincent delivers freshly-harvested cherries to the mill. The cherries are promptly sorted and floated in water to remove defects and then fermented for 24-72 hours in sealed tanks, depending on the ambient conditions and factors such as sugar content that relate directly to fermentation inside the tanks. After this process is complete, the cherries are then moved to raised beds to dry in the sun for an average of 20 days — they are turned every 45 minutes to ensure an even moisture content throughout the lot. Once cherries are dried, they are stored in a cool and dry environment before being hulled, cupped, and then milled for export.

Swerl Coffee - Colombia Luis Aguirre Washed Filter 250g
Roasting date: 17.04.2025
Whole-bean specialty coffee from Colombia, roasted by Swerl roasting brand in Sweden. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. The flavour of the brew resembles ripe grapes, cantaloupe melon, with intense tropical sweetness.Country: ColombiaRegion: Villahermosa, TolimaVarietal: Pink BourbonProcessing: WashedAltitude: 1800 m a.s.l.Swerl Roastery is thrilled to present the second harvest of Luis Aguirre's exceptional lot. For those who had the opportunity to taste it last year, the team is excited to share that this year’s harvest has surpassed expectations—truly a stellar lot. When Swerl first acquired last year’s harvest, Luis Aguirre was relatively new to the world of specialty coffee. At that time, the variety he was cultivating remained unidentified and was initially believed to be a hybrid. However, following genetic testing conducted by LaREB, it has been confirmed that the variety is indeed Pink Bourbon—also known as Rosado. This lot was sourced through LaREB, a cooperative made up of approximately 60 producers. Founded and operated by producers themselves, LaREB is dedicated to rigorous quality control and offers robust support to its members, especially those working with smaller lots, helping bring their coffees to the international stage.By operating without intermediaries, LaREB independently handles shipping, warehousing, financing, and sales. This structure ensures that 80% to 90% of profits remain in Colombia, directly supporting the producers and strengthening the local economy.Swerl Roastery is proud to stand behind this sustainable, producer-led model and looks forward to sharing this remarkable harvest with coffee lovers everywhere.

Swerl Coffee - Colombia Yoiner Mosquera Anoxic Natural Process Filter 250g
Roasting date: 15.04.2025
Whole-bean specialty coffee from Colombia, roasted by Swerl roasting brand in Sweden. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. The flavour of the brew resembles cherry-jam and delicate florals with lingering booziness.Country: ColombiaRegion: Palestina, HuilaVarietal: CastilloProessing: Anoxic Natural ProcessAltitude: 1550 m a.s.l.Yoiner, a third-generation coffee grower, has been involved in coffee his entire life. He has a background in business and accounting, having worked for the Banco Agrario in Colombia, where he observed the challenges faced by producers, including the conditions imposed by the banking system. His dissatisfaction with this system eventually led him to leave the banking world and fully commit to his family's coffee business.Yoiner became fully invested in his coffee farm around six to eight years ago, after taking over the farm from his father, who no longer worked in coffee. Yoiner’s siblings still support the farm financially, and together they keep the family business alive.Yoiner had a history of buying cherries from local producers, which involved a more risky and less transparent process, but he eventually moved away from that after facing financial losses. He now works with LaREB, a project that emphasizes transparency and quality, aligning with Yoiner’s focus on producing high-quality coffee rather than simply making a profit.Yoiner’s farm is still relatively new, and while his management practices are still evolving, he continues to improve his operations.Swerl purchased this lot through our partners at LaREB, a co-op of around 60 producers. LaREB is founded and run by producers, and it helps its members, especially those with small quantities, bring their lots to the international market. They conduct quality control and handle all aspects of the operation, including shipping, warehousing, financing, and sales. LaREB does not work with any importers or exporters, which ensures that 80% to 90% of the profits stay in Colombia, benefiting the local producers directly.
