A truly competitive profile
A handshake separates me from this farm. The La Esperanza farm was established in 1946. 80 years ago, the first coffee trees in the state of Veracruz were planted by Don Antonio Rincon and Dona Lucia Garcia. The history of the Rincon family took off for good in 1970, thanks to the division of the family estate in the name of peace of mind and better organization.
Emmanuel Rincon turned out to be a real game changer, turning the processing method upside down. Instead of sticking to schemes, he focused on bold experiments with fermentation and exchanging experiences with producers from all over the world. In 2018, Emmanuel joined forces with Andreas, whose hand I shook in 2022 when he was showing me what farms in Mexico look like. With Exportadora de Café California, moving to a pro level, he combined the fight for the highest quality with care for the ecosystem and soil regeneration. The effect? Since 2019, the beans from La Esperanza have represented a purely competitive profile. Emmanuel obsessively looks for clarity, complexity, and that perfect balance between body, acidity, and sweetness in the brew.
