The Rugamba processing station was built in 2009. It is located on the shores of Lake Kivu and processes cherries from over 1,500 farmers who grow coffee on the high hills surrounding the lake, on fertile volcanic soil.
Fun fact: our batch of coffee was processed using the honey method, which combines elements of both natural and washed processing. As a result, the coffee achieves a balance of the cleanliness and clarity of washed coffee with the characteristic sweetness and fruitiness of natural coffee.
