Ichamara is a coffee processing station established in 1963 by local farmers and is now regarded as the best-performing station within the New Gikaru farmers’ cooperative. Thanks to ongoing infrastructure upgrades, including new drying tables, the station has been steadily improving the quality and consistency of its coffees.

The cooperative brings together 1,482 active farmers, each cultivating an average of around 200 coffee trees. The cooperative model enables collective action, better access to the market, and a fair distribution of profits after operational costs are covered, supporting the stability and development of the local community.
