I’ve developed a kind of allergic reaction whenever I hear: “this is a Brazilian coffee that doesn’t taste like a typical Brazilian coffee.”
Here, that phrase fits perfectly — because this coffee has a lot going on, and it’s as complex as the DNA of a true street mutt. There’s plenty of caramel and milk chocolate, sure — but it also has a jammy note. Not a sad, bluesy kind of jam, but a juicy, fruity one — packed with ripe red strawberries!
A few words about the farm:
This coffee comes from a farm that was established in 2017. In 2021, it expanded with two additional estates — Fazenda Buriti and Fazenda Arcos, neighboring Santo Inácio. The effort quickly paid off: in 2021, Marco’s coffee placed 3rd in a competition for the best fermented coffee in the cooperative. In 2023, his coffees were awarded again — 2nd place in the natural category, and 3rd place in the Elas no Café competition in the Cerrado region.
But it’s not about the awards — it’s about the hard work of the farmers, which was rightfully recognized through this project. I’m really glad we were able to select such a solid coffee for this cause.
