Whole-bean specialty coffee from Colombia roasted by Berlin-based Five Elephant roastery. Light roast, perfect for filter coffee machines, drippers, Chemex, AeroPress, French Press, and other pour-over brewing methods. The brew shows the flavour notes of cherry soda, orange blossom, and watermelon.

Country: Colombia

Region: Nazareno, Tolima

Farm: Maranatha

Altitude: 1890 - 1910 m a.s.l.

Varietal: Geisha

Processing: Washed

Drawn by Planadas’ ideal growing conditions, Aseneth Bedoya began farming coffee ten years ago, learning everything from scratch with support from local institutions. Today, she masters roasting, cupping, and crafting refined profiles. Maranatha is home to Geisha, Caturra, Typica and Yellow Bourbon, preserving towering native trees and serving as a sanctuary for countless bird species.

Although not certified yet, Aseneth farms with regenerative, shade-grown practices that nurture the soil and protect the native ecosystem. She handpicks only the ripest cherries every three weeks, pulping them the next morning and fermenting them for 24–42 hours before she slowly sun-dries them for up to 15 days, depending on weather conditions.

Twelve years ago, Maranatha was just land. Aseneth built her home here with her own hands, planting native trees and protecting the forest canopy to keep the land healthy and full of life. By preserving the forest canopy, she made her farm a haven for birds and biodiversity. Over time, she taught herself to grow coffee, working with nature rather than against it. Today, Maranatha is a place where careful farming and biodiversity thrive side by side.

Over the past two years, she’s been focusing on refining the unique profile and clarity of her coffee. We believe this washed geisha is a good example of it. Looking ahead, Aseneth hopes to inspire other women in coffee, improve her drying infrastructure, and keep pushing quality even further.
