The Banko Gotiti Cooperative was established in 2012, independently of the larger Worka cooperative in the region.


It brings together around 300 members who cultivate a mix of traditional Ethiopian heirloom varieties amidst lush forest vegetation.



PROCESSING



In Ethiopia, natural coffees are typically delivered to the station on the day of harvest, then sorted for ripeness and quality before being washed.


Whole coffee cherries are spread out on raised beds or drying tables and turned frequently throughout the drying process.


Drying usually takes between 8 and 25 days, depending on weather conditions.
