PROCESSING

A washed process in Kenya is like freezing cold vodka on the table during Polish feast. Typical and must be! Before being stripped of their dign..., sorry, of the cherries, the beans are first sorted. Then they spend the night doing crazy things, that is fermenting. The next morning - a splash of water to tidy up! Then recuperating in the sun from 8 to 14  days.

THE FARM

Karimikui, Kii and Kiangoi - the golden trinity of Kenyan ambrosias united in the Rungeto cooperative. It's from these three mills that the world's best coffees representing this terroir come - full of fruity expression and incredible freshness. In the case of this lot, 950 farmers deliver the fruits of their labor to the washing station, which are then turned into this crazy rhubarb juice!

ROASTER'S COMMENT

One of  my coffee friends stated: "A Kenyan in its archetypical form". And I agree! Sweet, expressive, deep rhubarby.  And on the tongue, oh man, it vibrates like a Yamaha FZ6 with 98 horsepower, cranked up to 10,000 rpm. A beautiful coffee!

PACKAGING

The coffee is packed in a brown jar made of PET, 100% recyclable or reusable. In case you're thinking "oh no, plastic!", bear in mind that standard coffee packaging is also made of plastic (and a few other materials, making it often harder to recycle). We also thought about glass, but it's heavier, more expensive, breakable and, wait for it, has the same or greater (sic!) environmental impact! A plastic jar turns out to be pretty eco-friendly, just remember to put it in the right container, or find a creative way to reuse it at home.
