There are several reasons for it! The first reason worth mentioning is roast profile. Beans from many speciality roasteries are quite light in colour, despite being labelled \u2018espresso\u2019. The first compromise is made <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">burrs of built-in grinders. In order to avoid rusting of steel burrs, some manufacturers use ceramic ones, which impairs grind quality, especially when it comes to fine grind. It is also worthwhile mentioning that many automatic espresso machines are treated like workhorses and haven\u2019t been serviced for a year, two or more while being in service, which has a negative effect on coffee flavour.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"so-what-should-you-do\"><b>So what should you do?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you haven\u2019t bought your dream home barista yet, check out its parameters first! For automatic espresso machines, it should be an espresso roast. As we said at the beginning, this coffee can sometimes be even too acidic, so it\u2019s good to start with Italian craft coffees, or potentially try lighter coffees as an experiment. If you choose more sublime, single-origin coffees, pay attention to their processing method and country of origin. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coffees from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/coffee\/central-america\/filters\/attribute\/76\/600\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Central<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/coffee\/south-america\/filters\/attribute\/76\/600\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South America<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have lower acidity than those from Africa.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you want to avoid it even more, choose natural or pulped natural processed coffee; if, on the other hand, you want your coffee to be acidic, look for wet processed coffees.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"classics-will-always-be-a-good-fit\"><b>Classics will always be a good fit!<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most obvious coffee to start with? <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Craft edition of good Italian classics, i.e. our favourite<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/our-brands\/arcaffe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcaffe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. First, choose small bags of different coffees from this roastery and pick the tastiest one among them. At the beginning, it is best to order coffees with different ratios of Arabica and Robusta. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coffee which is the most \u2018Robusta\u2019, instense in taste and has high bitterness is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/product\/272\/Arcaffe-Margo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcaffe Margo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; 50% Arabica and 50% Robusta. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next coffee in line with the highest Robusta content is<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/product\/267\/Arcaffe-Meloria-1Kg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meloria<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; it has 25% of Robusta beans.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In the cup, this translates into slightly higher acidity which is neutralised by high bitterness of Robusta.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img  loading=\"lazy\"  decoding=\"async\"  class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7161 pk-lazyload\"  src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAEAAAABAQMAAAAl21bKAAAAA1BMVEUAAP+KeNJXAAAAAXRSTlMAQObYZgAAAAlwSFlzAAAOxAAADsQBlSsOGwAAAApJREFUCNdjYAAAAAIAAeIhvDMAAAAASUVORK5CYII=\"  alt=\"\"  width=\"800\"  height=\"533\"  data-pk-sizes=\"auto\"  data-ls-sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"  data-pk-src=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2019\/09\/JJF8742-800x533.jpg\"  data-pk-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/JJF8742-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/JJF8742-1160x773.jpg 1160w, https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/JJF8742-320x213.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/JJF8742-560x373.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/JJF8742-1920x1280.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/JJF8742.jpg 2560w\" ><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next option, one that is the least \u2018hardcore\u2019 when it comes to keeping some Robusta in coffee is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/product\/10399\/Set-Arcaffe-Roma-1Kg--Espresso-Cup-And-Saucer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcaffe Roma<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A blend of many speciality Arabica coffee varieties with an admixture of high quality Robusta results in a balanced flavour, low acidity, but thanks to Robusta it has still enough bitterness and beautiful crema. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To enthusiasts of Italian espresso, which, however, is 100% Arabica, I recommend my favourite coffee, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coffeedesk.com\/product\/270\/Arcaffe-Mokacrema-250G\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcaffe Mokacrema<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; nuts, chocolate and much sweetness which brings to mind honeydew honey!<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-about-a-handful-of-fruits\"><b>How about a handful of fruits?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you brew coffee in an automatic espresso machine, you don\u2019t have settle for a classic espresso without any fruity notes. Apart from the sweetness of chocolate and almonds, you will find plums and sweet caramel in there &#8211; yummy!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"seek-and-you-shall-find\"><b>Seek and you shall find<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The coffees described above should give you a good start to searching &#8216;the one&#8217;.
